McCormick innovations at EIMA 2008

McCormick has confirmed its commitment towards product development based on innovation by enhancing its product portfolio. This will ultimately provide farmers and contractors with a range of dependable products that will help meet their demands of increased productivity and reduced operating costs in the future.
Numerous innovations will make their debut at Eima 2008, products that concern both the Italian and export markets, where the McCormick brand continues to grow from strength to strength through its distributors and respective dealer network.
McCormick stands for on-going innovation, high productivity and a remarkable degree of comfort, a perfect mix that's also featured by the new models and recent range upgrades.
GM Series: decisive restyling
Designed to satisfy the needs of farmers in a vast array of applications, McCormick’s GM series has been completely revamped.
There’s been a radical restyling process involving both the visual aspect, with a new look featuring a tilting bonnet, and the Tier 3 engines which add to the comfort of the GM Series.
Available in the footstep and cab versions, McCormick’s GM tractors sport a completely re-designed operators environment, with all controls positioned in the optimum position for the driver and therefore maximizing operator comfort and productivity.
The high-performance 3 and 4-cylinder Yanmar engines are amongst the winning features of the new range. These machines are easy to handle and compact making them ideal for any task especially where space is at a premium, in greenhouses. Out in the field they are well suited for cultivation work or operating between crop rows, orchards and vineyards.
The GM Series has a SpeedFour transmission with fully synchronized reverse shuttle and creeper, plus the new and efficient mechanical power lift that provides draft, position and Intermix functions while guaranteeing a 1200 kg lifting capacity. The new range comprises four models, GM 40-GM45-GM50-GM55, with 35 to 54 HP power ratings. The GM55 features the new Yanmar 4TNV84 Tier 3 turbo engine with EGR (exhaust gas recirculation), 4 valves per cylinder and electronic regulator for the engine’s pump, technologically evolved specifications that ensure high performance and low fuel consumption.
The CX Series sports a restyled cab and new engines
The CX Series will feature a new 4 pillar cab providing all-round visibility. Besides providing a modern stylish look, the new cab roof has window allowing the operator to keep a watchful eye on the front loader right up to its maximum height. This window also allows natural ventilation for those who prefer fresh air.
Integrated into the roof, an efficient heating and air conditioning system have been designed to make the conditions inside the cab as comfortable as possible for the operator, despite the weather outside.
The digital instrument panel in the cab is a new design. Easy to consult and functional, it provides all the information the operator needs to perform efficiently and assure the utmost safety. The tractors service and maintenance schedules are also programmed into the display panel.
The mushroom-shaped button used to engage the PTO is positioned on the right-hand console. It is electronically controlled and ensures smooth, gradual engagement regardless of the inertia from the implement.
The 3 point linkage features electronic control for precise operation and the maximum lifti capacity has been increased by almost 500kg over the previous version. This increased capacity is available on the CX100 and CX110 models.
The new range comprises three models, CX 90- 83hp CX100 93hp and CX110delivering 102 HP.
The CX product is an all round utility tractor and can operate efficiently with a front loader using its proven powershuttle option and performs well in general cultivation, planting, ploughing and pto tasks such as grass mowing and baling.
The CX tractors are equipped with Perkins new generation 1104D engines in the Turbo version for CX90 and the Turbo Aftercooler version for CX100 and CX110. These engines provide excellent performance char, besides complying with Tier 3 dictates.
The CX is available with a choice of transmission either a Synchro Shuttle or the XtraShift with power shuttle version.
The Synchro Shuttle model has a base transmission with 8 FWD + 8 REV speeds, this may also be specified with an optional 2-speed powershift providing 16 FWD + 8 REV speeds.
The Xtrashift model has a 3-speed powershift transmission with electronically controlled hydraulic powershuttle.
This transmission may be equipped with the optional creeper resulting in 36 FWD + 36 REV making ideal for specialist tasks where slow forward speeds are required.
The front axle, with 55° steering angle, features 4WD engagement and electrohydraulic switch-operated diff lock. A choice of PTO outputs are available with 2 speeds (540/750 or 540/1000) for the utmost in versatility.
The new MTX Series
McCormick’s MTX Series continues to be recognized as proven dependable product. It is appreciated on an international scale for its performance characteristics, simple to operate transmission and high levels of comfort. The chassis frame construction making it ideal for heavy cultivation yet still highly maneuverable when fitted with a front loader.
The new MTX Series represents the culmination of high-range development, which began one year ago when the XTX range was presented, followed by the TTX range. Thus, to complete the choice of 6-cylinder versions with chassis construction, McCormick has restyled the MTX Series, which will make its official international debut at this year’s Eima fair.
The MTX tractor sports the cab, roof, mudguards and bonnet of the higher power families, thus achieving an exclusive family feeling that comprises 120 HP to 230 HP versions.
The aim is to offer pioneering and technologically advanced products that will allow McCormick to become one of the Premium Brands.
TTX, the new 50 kph version
Designed to reach a speed of 50 kph in full safety, McCormick’s TTX Series will be presented at Eima.
It has been regularly type-approved by the German TUEV and is marketed in countries of central and north Europe where this speed is permitted by law. The top speed is limited to 40 kph in Italy and can be reached at an engine speed of only 1800 RPM, this results in lower noise levels and increased fuel economy.
When equipped as a 50kph unit the superior independent front suspension and hydraulic cab suspension maximize operator comfort and safety. This is coupled with solid wheel rims and the option of ultra-low profile tyres (/60).
CX-L Series with new Tier 3 engines
The CX-L Series is a natural choice in a vast variety of work conditions. It’s right for open field jobs, thanks to its light weight that packs the soil down to a minimum degree.
It’s good for towing jobs and use of the PTO, all due to the engine’s excellent torque reserve. But it’s also ideal for work on hillsides and in mountain areas thanks to its low center of gravity, and between crop rows owing to its compact size, when maneuverability is a must.
The new generation CX-L tractors are equipped with Yanmar 4TNV98 aspirated and turbo “Tier 3” green engines with external EGR and 72 to 81.2 HP (ISO) power ratings.
The gearboxes are modular: Speed Five, with mechanical gearshift and reverse shuttle; Power Five, with hydraulic reverse shuttle and De-Clutch. For both, the top speed is 40 kph and both can be equipped with the creeper.
The CX-L family is available in two versions: CX-L, designed for open field jobs, sports 30” tyres, while the more compact CX-LC version comes equipped with 28” tyres and it ideal for specialistic farm work.
Both are available in the 70, 80 and 85 models and come with a cab, as part of the standard equipment.
The CX-L range features front/rear integral braking, simultaneous electrohydraulically controlled locking of the differentials and hydraulic PTO.
The 3,400 kg capacity rear power lift and hydraulic circuit with 4 spool valves make the CX-L models extremely functional and versatile. Safe driving and comfort are guaranteed by a cab with 4 pillars that provides excellent visibility, improved to an even further extent by the transparent roof window, ideal when front loaders are used.
